HISTORY

DESIGNED IN 1907, THE TREE-LINED COURSE WINDS AROUND A HILL BETWEEN OCEAN, RIVER AND MOUNTAINS. IT WAS INITIALLY DESIGNED BY J.H. TAYLOR, CHAMPION AND FAMOUS GOLF ARCHITECT.

It is a unique and typically British course, varied and undulating, revealing to you superb panoramas, alternating between ocean, la Nivelle river, the harbour of St Jean de Luz and the Pyrénées.

This course requires technique : the landscape and the slopes, sometimes steep, require the golfer to adapt stance and swing; the sloping greens are demanding.
It is appreciated for the quality of the terrain, and interests men and women players alike, whatever their level of skill.

Also, and above all, la Nivelle is a golf club : a community of players who identify with sporting values while sharing sociable times together, including at the 19th hole.
